"A" Plan Can I use a friends?

I have a close friend who is giving me his X-Plan Pin. My question is can I use his "A" Plan PIN...????

What will they ask in the finance office besides what is the A Plan PIN? Relationship? etc.... Heck I think he is my long lost brother....heheheheheh

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, This board ROCKS

A-plan requires both the employee and the buyer to give SSN to verify relationship. I have heard of people getting away with it some time ago, but I don't think it happens too often. If it were readily possible, more people would be doing it.

If you use a-plan or x-plan for that matter, do you get the rebates after that price is calculated? So a MSRP of $35,000 goes down to $31,000 (x-plan) $30,000 (a-plan) appproximately. Then if there is $3,000 rebates does it go down to 28k and 27k????

I don't feel comfortable trying to lie to FORD, they've never lied before so I wouldn't want to do it to them. So, I will probably not use a-plan unless someone with a last name of Bristol, Haydon, Busik, or Harrison has an A-Plan PIN to give me. Then I have a mtach and SSN numbers would reveal that.

Yes, special plan pricing is before any availible rebates. For instance, my 2003 F-150 I picked up last month:

Sticker $38,200
A-Plan $32,090
Add 6% MI Sales Tax and Transfer of a license plate $34,036
Subtract $3500 rebates at the time $30,536 out the door

The only thing I have heard about not eligible is the college grad credit not working for A-Plan customers.

I would be interested in your reasoning in going for the 03 vs. the 04. Was it the incentives were just too good to pass up?

I had considered ordering an 04, but I figure it would have cost me $4000 more. At the time, I was figuring $1000 more for the exact same truck/equipment plus extra options that I would get that are not availible on 03 models. I also assumed no incentives would be availble. Based on Sticker prices and some estimation of others on here who have gotten their A-plan prices, an 04 would cost $1000 more with equipment I want. Incentives are still TBD.

$3500 is what I got towards the 03. The 03 was want thing, not a need. In some ways it made sense, but we had a perfectly good and very well liked 99. Pristine, actually, and I had a number of friends/family talk about buying it, especially at the price I let it go for. The timing just worked out well to upgrade and doing it for an extra $4k would not make a new vehicle worth it to us.

Comparing the two, we got a $38k truck for $30.5k vs. getting a $39k truck for $35k OTD. Incentives put us over the edge. Other factors: new model year, new transmission coming next year that we'd miss out on.

Sound logic, no doubt. I am just concerned about the trade-in value of the "old" body style once the 04 comes out. I am really having a hard time passing up the rebates they are currently offering, though. Am really anxious to see the rebates on the 04. Will probably wait until then to make a decision. Thanks for the input.

I am not too concerend with reade-in value of my 03. I don't plan to get rid of it forbeore its useful life is over. However, I never planned to get rid of my 03 either. If this 03 is as good as my 99, I doubt the situation to upgrade will come again.

Yes, incentives are good right now for 03's. If you are nt looking for a high end model, remember the 04 Heritage Edition is still an option. This may help reduce the amount of depreciation on the 03's andcurrent body style. THere will not be a lot of overlapping of Heritage and new style trim levels/equipment. A little, but not much at first.

Anyway, if you can wait 2 months, let's see hoe well the 04 sells and what the rebates will be. I hear GM is planning massive rebats on their truck to force Ford to do the same, knowing that the Fords cost $2000 more to manufacture than the current style.

Massive rebates.

Just the hint of that makes me giddy.

Only your immediate family can use the A and D plan. Ford is clamping down on this and have even had people bring cars back in and redo the purchase plan.

Not a problem. Like said earlier, Ford hasn't lied to me so I am not going to lie to them.......

I will take the X-Plan and be a man of word, wisdom, honesty and ethics......

Geez, it's the wife's truck, I should have her pay for it....lmao

Wink

I am sure if they threaten fraud charges, the choice becomes quite easy.

I am not saying they have threatened this, I don't know. But it is fraud.

Just seems wherever there is a system, someone will try to get over on it.

I'll pay my X-plan price and be grateful I can get that.

My ears perked up a little when I saw "college grad credit"... what is that?? I just graduated, that's why I'm curious.

Generally manufacturers offer a $1000 rebate to recent college grads, I think it's eligible for 2 years after graduation but could be mistaken. There's probably ads in your college paper or around campus somewhere but if not your dealer should know about it. All you have to do once you agree on price is ask for the rebate and bring a photocopy of your diploma/degree.
