2004 Prices (well some of them)
I agree, in a perfect world, rebates should come later. But, right now, they better have some substantial (at least $2000) rebates or this truck will not move like they need it to. I understand the need to move the remaining 03's but they would be better off to discount those models further. The 04 needs to be a volume seller, no doubt about that. The only way to achieve this is to price it competitively and from the prices posted above, they will need rebates to achieve this.
Maybe someone can explain this to me:
Why is the MSRP on 03 5.4L $1550 but the MSRP on the 04 5.4L only $895? Doesn't seem right for an entirely new engine to cost less than the one it is replacing (especially that much less).

Tell you what...
Sell me an 03 for $15,000 and I'll trade it back in when your lot is empty of 03's and get an 04.
I priced an 03 verses an 04 and was only increased by about $300 for the options I wanted.
Since I get a power sliding window and bigger tires and a better engine and the keypad and the rear sensor (great option by the way I have it on my Explorer), and the better look and the power windows in the super cab back, and the bigger payload and 6 extra inches in the cab and .... should I continue? $300 doesn't seem like much.
As far as rebates go.... If they really want to sell one then they will go low if they HAVE to.

for a total of ...... $35,125
minus 03 price $32,540
Differnece of $2585 BEFORE rebates.
Granted the new trucks much nicer and most people only bought the moonroof this year due to it being in the Midwest package, but thats still a pretty large price jump, I wonder if some rebates won't be out quickly due to them being built into the price

Again is it worth the difference, probably, at least to me, but its not the small amount of increase Ford is claiming.

Even if you take off the Midwest and FX4 discounts, the Supercab is still $1110 more than this 03, not $300. And MOST regions had this package or one simmilar to it (I sell in 3 regions based on my location and all had something simmilar, although names were different IE Northland package, Chicago Tough truck, Midwest edition.)

Coming from a dealer standpoint, THEY BETTER NOT. There are lots of 2003 leftovers around and if the new truck is as good as they say, we need a large price jump to move the left-overs. If this truck's as good as they say it should sell on its own merit. If they have to add rebates (not APR that's different) righ away, they priced it too high to start, rebates should come down the road.

They must get rid of the 2003 first (which by the way, it is a very good truck)...before they start reducing the 2004 prices.
This is going to be a very interesting year for Ford.
2004 Prices, A/C in seats?
I ordered my new 2004 F150 Supercrew 4X4 Lariat on 6-11-03 and they still can't tell me how much it's going to cost. I ordered it with every option but the moon roof.
I bought my 1997 F150 Supercab 4X4 Lariat in May of 1996, very early model (built 3-96) and it cost $30,000 out the door. There was NO comparision to the previous model F-150. Glad I bought it, whatever the price was.
The 2003 F150's won't be going away anytime soon - they are still producing the 2003 body style for the "heritage" 2004 F150.
I don't think anyone is going to care about the price difference, the 2004 truck should be as good of a change as it was back in 1997.
Hey, does anyone know if the 2004 F150 Lariat comes with A/C in the seats like the 2003 Navigator or Expedition? I'm sure hoping so.
My truck is suppose to be here in September - can't wait!
