Lightbulb a few suggestions to Ford

Just a few things that I would mention to Ford if they asked me:

1. color coded mirrors and door handles (especially lariat)
2. light around cigarette lighter
3. seperate switch for cargo light (separate from interior light)
4. move the ford logo to the side
5. Power down rear window (like the old bronco's)
6. 5 speed automatic tranny

These features would be on my truck in a perfect world.

You would think that one would be a no brainer for Ford...

Here's what I think:

- Make platform running boards available for FX4 from factory (I don't like tube type as they all rust)
- Personally I'd like chrome bumpers on the FX4 if you order a solid color (ala Lariat)
- I also wish you'd get body color wheel lip mouldings on the FX4 when you get a solid color. (instead of dark gray)
- I think the Lariat grill would look better with a black/darker honeycomb insert vs the silver... I note Ford also had silver for the '99 model but changed it back to black in '00.
- I think the XLT would look 100% better with wheel lip mouldings. Hey the '97 - '03 has 'em!
- Would be nice if you could get the lariat without the fake woodgrain trim...
- Would be nice if the moonroof option would at minimum have at least one storage compartment for my shades up there. Other guys have it. There is room...
- The 5 speed auto would have been nice now, but hey it gives us a reason to trade up in 2 years...

Power Kid, I know what you mean about the tubular steps rusting. But my dealer says he sells the heck out of the Ford accessory step bars because they're made out of chrome plated ALUMINUM tubing. I don't know if salt is a big problem where you are, but SE Michigan probably sees more inches of salt on the roads than snow!

He also told me that the factory step bars on the present F-150 are aluminum, but he has no idea what they'll be made of on the '04 model. Hopefully Ford will continue to offer the aluminum step bars as an accessory for the new truck too!

Two things I forgot:

1. Power DOWN rear window (like the old bronco's)
2. A button on the remote that makes everything open all the way at the same time.

(l like it breezy)
