2004 - 2008 F-150

new 5.4 liter 3 valve for the F250?

new 5.4 liter 3 valve for the F250?

I asked this over on the F250 forum but I'm trying to build frequent poster milage here...

is Ford planning to replace the current 5.4 liter with the new one as the standard enginee in the F250?

IMHO , they certainly should , as they are lagging behind the competition in HP numbers in their gas super duty trucks. I think they will as soon as production of 3v engines (5.4) comes up to speed. Then other versions of 3v engines later on.

No, at least not on startup for 2004, the F-150 is the only one listed with the 995 5.4L Engine, Expedition and Super Duty continue with the 99L 5.4L.

I test drove a couple of 250's a couple of weeks ago and the "order taker" there said, "probably no new 5.4 for at least the first half of the production year."

I don't know, but I kind of wonder if it won't be like the Power Stroke was this year, the 7.3L was built until November and the then was replaced by the 6.0L, hopefully this will be the case again.
