Questions about Bed Options on 2004

I love the new look of the 2004. I have a 2001 XLT extended cab, but will definitely will be getting a new 2004 when they come out. My question (this maybe be stupid) is this: Does anyone know what the bed options for an XLT Super Crew will be? Are the super crews going to be limited to the 5 1/2 ft bed, or will the 6 1/2 be available? I personally would love to get my hands on a 2004 Super Crew with a 6 1/2 ft bed. I don't see any reason why they could do that (you can get an extended cab F150 with the 8 ft bed now). If anyone has any insight, please let me know.. I want to be prepared for the first wave on 2004's when they hit the showrooms. Thanks!

At the intro, in the media guide and in most articles, Ford states the 6.5 ft bed will be available with the 6.5 ft bed (in addition to the 5.5 ft) The reason: Fifth wheel trailers. BUT at the Detroit auto show, I specifically asked the Ford rep about this and he stated despite the literature, Ford was undeceided if the 6.5 ft bed would actually be offered by the time it hits the dealers. He stated Ford engineers were really pushing Ford not to do it. (for reasons I'm not aware of) Turning radius?

I don't know what to beleive as that has been the only indication that it may not happen. I all I know is I won't be surprised if that option is shelved...

If you really want the 6.5' bed - seriously consider the SuperCab. With the extra 6" in the cabin, the back seat is now a serious contender. There is even a slight rake angle to the back rest, rather than a straight up vertical back like in previous models.

The current model Supercab does have a rake in the rear seatback. Although I'm not sure if this was done in '97 or '99. (they did make some changes for the '99 models) The rake angle will be better tough as it's been increased from 18 to 23 deg for '04. (Chevy has been at 23 since the last makeover)

Must have been `97, I have back problems and can't sit up straight in a seat for a long time or it hurts, and I have no problem riding in the back seat of mine. (Not that that ever happens, but occasionally I get drunk, so I forego driving and if I am feeling nice I give up shotgun, too).
