Yesterday I talked to someone who works for a sub contractor for the Norfolk assembly plant. They put together the exhaust systems for the F-150s and send them to the plant.

They are already producing systems for the new trucks. He wasn not sure if they will all use the same systems, but said that in the past they made the systems for all the F-150s that Norfolk produced.

He said they are single systems, and use a larger diameter pipe than previous models.... he said about 2 and 3/4 inch. This would lead me to believe that the system will go on the V8 trucks, as this seems like a big tube for the 6s.

They are already being made, and he said the first batch were to be delivered no later the beginning of April the last he heard.

 

I read a while ago on here that there wont be a V6 in the new trucks till '05 or something like that. They will still be selling the current body style with the V6 and manual trans. for '04.
