You hear about it all the time. One automaker taking an idea from another automaker. Well, take a look at the two pictures and see if you think there might be any similarities
Here is the Nissan Titan's new interior for their new 2004 model
And here is the interior for Ford's new 2004 F150
They are not the exactly alike, but they look close to me.

I noticed it back on 7 Jan when I posted the same thing. Go check out that one and read all the comments about it then.

I check this site out everyday and this forum too, but I don't remember ever seeing that thread. I had never even seen the Nissan Interior until I saw it in the paper the other day and noticed that they looked the same. Oh well.....
It is quit strange to see a Nissan with very similar interior. I knew Ford and Mazda were the same when it came to trucks and suvs, if you look under the hood at the Mazda truck the emissions sticker says Ford Motor Company.
Yeah, they copy us real well over in Riceland. Still the Ford beats the ricer by a mile even though Nissan did try to steal some of Fords thunder.

just like a mazda
I saw the dash of a Mazda car the other day and it looks just like the f150's new dash. Ond of Mazdas prototypes has the same dash also. From what I've seen Ford likes to test new ideas in the Mazdas and if the idea works then they will put the features in a Ford vechile, if it doesnt work they really dont care because people go, "Its just that rice burner crap."
I agree, they are somewhat similar in design. But the question I'd like to pose here is, "Am I the only person that hates the location of the shift lever (i.e. in a center console on the floor)?" I'd agree to that design in a car, but not in a truck. I hope Ford re-thinks this design or at least offers an option to have the lever on the steering column by the time the production truck hits dealerships.
I believe the only trucks that will have the shift lever in the center console is the upper end trucks like the Lariat and I think the FX4 if I can remember correctly. The XL, XLT and others will have it still on the column. Or at least I have seen one picture that shows the shifter on the column.
2002Screw..
I am glad you brought up the term "bucket seats". Ford is calling them captains chairs but I don't remember seeing any arm rests on them. With out arm rests isn't a captains chair just a bucket seat?
I saw the 04 Lariat in St. Louis last month and didn't even think to see if the seats had armrests or not. The available pictures look like they do not.

Looking at those pics, did you guys notice how the A pillar in the Nissan is so much thicker than the Ford. That really takes away visability. It was the first thing I would notice whenever I'd drive a '94+Ram (as compared to the F-150) Makes it feel like a bus instead of a truck. Not good Nissan. Way to go Ford. I did notice in my test drive of a '03 HEMI alst week, DOdge did slim down the A pillar on the newest Rams, although not quite enough IMHO.
BTW, I have not seen one shot of the "captain" chairs in an '04 with armrests. They made the console wider.
I also thought this was the case with '02-'03 Supercrews w/Captains charis" Maybe not.

You think that is bad,,,,
Can anyone put up a pic of the Ford Escape dash?
You will see a more striking similarity to the Escape by the Nissan there, all that the Escape needs is that dished out area in the top center of the Nissan to be the same.
