Alternator intermittent??

I got a new battery on 7/31/2023 from advance auto.
I got an alternator in November from pick n pull with extended warranty but none of their f159s have an alternator including a truck that’s been there less than 3 days.

last night advance auto didn’t want warranty their battery that’s less than 30 days unless I had the paper receipt bc I got it from another one of their stores. New battery last night tested good but alternator tested low output last night while installed.

took alternator today to Oreillys off the truck and it test good.
advance auto today said bad ground and it never spun but advance auto also arced their machine prior to proper hook up and it sparked so they may have fried their machine.

Advance Auto has you in their system.
Other stores can see the same or call the other store for confirmation. They do this all the time looking for parts not in their stock.
The wire cable connector may have bent pins..
You have to further test the system on the truck running to verify what you have.
Used Alternator may have worn Brushes or worn Commutator.
.
This can be a problem relying solely on off vehicle testing. Same with Starter issues.
On running vehicle, the Battery voltage, right after starting will be getting its recovery charge. the voltage will be raised toward 15 volts to accomplish this.
Since the Battery is new, it should recover quickly within less than 10 minutes unless the Alternator and /or the Battery is faulty.
When recovery has taken place the Battery voltage will go down to close to 14 volts and remain there.
You have to fill in with these observations and not rely on off vehicle tests to be sure, and check/clean cable terminals and ground to be good.
You have this responsibility and not put blame all on others when plug and play does not work unless you verify a proven faulty part..
Too many people, sources and time involved and opportunity too make excuse on unproven basis.
Charging system is very simple two parts and cables/connections and likely a field fuse to power the field winding in the Alternator that if blown there will be no output..
Good luck.

I posted the results of on and off alternator test.

This particular store said if you don’t buy at their specific store then I need the paper receipt and refused to help me find raised hell until they finally test my battery after being there at least one and a half hours while they ignored me. They couldn’t find receipt with my number which I had at home and planned to scan it . Either was the battery was less than thirty days old I had written the last month purchase date with a paint pen.

i will never go back to advance unless it’s to warranty out my current battery.
I plan to replace the alternator probably with new.
one test is good one stated low output. Needed specifically stated bad.

Standard size calls for 95 amp.
130 amp ok as long as the Case mounting matches or can be indexed to match.
If you're sure you have a case on the store, give corporate a call and explain what happened.
Someone may even have pocketed the money trying to get away with it if it does not show in the system.
At least you have the last word for your satisfaction if it does not go anywhere.
Good luck.

If it came with a 95, a 130 might not fit. Rock Auto has new AC Delco for just over $100.
