2000 4.6 prev owner bypassed heater core but the passenger floor board is wet now I believe. I will double check . It was bypassed before I got it and I’ve had it 4 months.

also is there an easier way to get heat/defrost besides removing dash. I know harbor freight has a 12 volt defroster but reviews aren’t that great.

To do it right, you'll need to take some of the dash apart.

It is best doing it with someone that has some experience. Can you find a friend or neighbor that knows a little about automotive?

google
2000 f-150 heater core replacement video
and you will find lots of videos about how to do it. Some claim to have a simple way of doing it.

you’ll need to replace the heater core if you want a non leaking one

I’m curious as to how a “defroster” is gonna help you when they offer a 4 inch area they can provide heat to??? IF they worked folks would use them instead of simply correctly repairing vehicles
