Brake Recommendations

Been off the forum for some time, but still have the F150!

Can anyone recommend a decent affordable brake set that includes pads and rotors? Don't need anything too fancy just a dependable and affordable set. Rockauto looks to have several options and even possibly 1aa?

Can anyone make a recommendation to help me get these ordered?

Thank you!

I prefer Wagner Thermoquiet and Premium E coated rotors, or OEM Motorcraft pads and rotors.

Probably should avoid the "economy" section of rock auto brakes.

My pickup is not a 7700, does this mean I need 679's on front and 711's on the rear? Then the rotors I need to specify 4x4 instead of RWD....so many choices, the Centric front and rear set at Rockauto looks like a good choice. Gonna sleep on it and make sure I'm picking the right parts. Thanks guys!

I recommend the Centric kits with semi-coated rotors and Posi-Quiet ceramic pads. I got 115k miles out of those on mine. They are quiet, smooth, and do not dust up the wheels. If you post details (year, engine, 2wd or 4wd, rear drum or disk, number of wheel lugs) I can post exact links.

They don't sell the ceramic pads as part of the kits, you will have to buy rotors and pads separately. I just checked my documentation and my rotors were not semi-coated but the pads were ceramic.

Thank you GLC! I've been away for ten plus years but recall you being just as helpful and informative back then too. Thank you!

I just got my order in for these same parts tonight, ends up being around the same price as 1aa's chinese looking brake kit too so happy I can be economical!

I don't see where you can select 2wd or 4wd with that kit. Front rotors are different.

All parts glc recommended above arrived today, now to carve out the time to work on the pickup!

To note, the Centric rotors are Chinese made, look decent quality though, they are sure heavy!

It's been a while, what is the verdict on your pads and rotors?

Fronts went on easy enough. Haven't had the energy/time to do rears yet, but its warming up so I'm sure I'll get to it soon!
