Serpentine belt help

Hey everyone…could use some help! so I’m getting some squeaking from my belt and it sounds like it’s coming from the water pump pulley. I noticed that the belt looks like it’s about to slip off. I showed these pictures to a friend at work who works on cars a lot and says that’s ok and the belt is not supposed to be up against the pulley. Yet I go on google and see YouTube videos and it looks like it is supposed to be all the way against the pulley. It just doesn’t look right to me and I’m thinking about pushing the belt all the way. I had just recently replaced the alternator myself and when I reinstalled the belt, it might have misaligned itself as I released the tensioner, and this belt was replaced last year, so it’s still fairly new.

so is this ok or should I realign it? Any advice helps!

I think the bigger concern is the squeaking noise. It's not likely coming from the belt but a worn water pump. Probably time to replace it.

Could also be the idler or the tensioner.

I would take the belt off and rotate each pulley. Even the new alternator you put on.

Yes, it appears that one or more of the pulleys is in need of a new bearing and it's causing the belt to get out of alignment. I'd remove the belt and check each pulley like Manual F150 suggested.
