97f150 2wd with rear abs brake and abs warning lights

I just had to make a serious panic stop, luckily I did not hit the moron in front of me with no brake lights.. Anyway, now my red brake warning light and yellow abs warning light are both on solid. Battery disconnect did not help. Is there anything in the master cylinder that may have gotten stuck? I think something might monitor the fluid level, and maybe got thrown out of whack. I believe the red warning light is related to hydraulic system and nothing to do with the rear ABS, but I am not sure. I am doing an oil change soon, I will check all the lines for leaks, etc., but the brakes seem fine and the fluid is full. All was fine until the panic stop. Truck was just safety inspected earlier this week, no problems noted.

It may have something to do with the ABS control unit. You'll need a shop that has an advanced code reader to read the ABS codes.

Don't start replacing parts until you get the codes.

Post them when you get the codes.

**I was just over in South Saugerties the other day on the other side of the Hudson... if this happened last weekend I would've had my Autel code reader with me cause I was helping a friend buy a bus and wanted me to run it through the scanner... would've loved to have helped you!

I removed fuses 13 and 29 in the fuse panel under the drivers side dash. Fuses were ok. I noticed an electrical connector on the side of the master cylinder, looked very dirty like brake fluid had spilled onto it at some point and dirt accumulated on it, I removed it and cleaned it up and replugged. Also tapped on the master cylinder a few times... Both warning lights are now off after several starts.. Let's hope they stay that way!

Was that electrical connector for the SCDS switch, the subject of a very serious recall, or the brake fluid level switch? The former has a two-wire connector, the latter has three.

I had the recall done years ago, the fluid level switch was the one I was referring to...
