Exclamation 1998 f150 v6 4.2l transmission problem

I got this truck not to long ago, i runs good but the transmission wont go on reverse at all and in any gear to put it on is like it goes on drive. i dont know if it has any code i havent seen a check engine light or any light regarding the transmission. if any one know if its fixable with out having to take the transmission off or just a way to fix it. It would be very helpful and useful.

If the OD OFF light flashes it's setting codes. See if you have any codes with a scanner that can read Ford transmission codes.

However, it sounds to me like it's an internal issue. Check the linkage and the MLPS.

I haven't really paid much attention to the OD light, i checked the linkage and de MLPS and they seem fine. I also think is something internal but i wanted a second opinion. It feel like something broke and is stuck in a gear or something. but im gonna check the OD light as soon as i can get to where the truck is. Ill post what i find. Thank you!!

You don't need to check the OD light, just scan for codes.
