Rusted Frame / Rockers

Fixed rotted frame issue, now the rocker panels look rusted thru and replacing them with slip-on rockers seems to be just an easy cosmetic get by.
I'm thinking the real fix needs to address any structural problems that might be present - ie. welding, floor, cab corners, etc
The engine was replaced 6 years (45k miles) ago with a remanufactured Jasper block - the truck is otherwise in great shape.
The automobile chip shortage has send used and new car prices thru the roof, I'm looking at many used cars with well over 100k miles going for almost
half the price of a new car.
So, Is it worth the fix? at this present time, probably - aside from any sentimental value, extending my truck's life seems to make more buck sense
than buying new or used.
Original owner - 2001 - F150 SuperCab XLT - 4.2 - 4x2 - 317k miles.

Yeah, with the inflated prices of trucks new or used right now, it's better to wait if you can. I'm sure there are still deals out there if you look long enough though.

Look around for folks that like to do restoration.

I personally know of one and they like working on rust. They used to work for a bus company repairing buses.

yup, fixing my truck is just ok by me.
finding a good car welder at a reasonable price is more palatable than feeding those hungry car salesmen.
