00 f150 4x4. Dash only works if interior light on using dimmer switch

I put key in ignition and turn key to run, but I get no lights or movement on gauge cluster and truck just turns over. Once I use the dimmer switch to turn on on interior lamp, the gauge lights up like a Christmas tree and the truck starts. It's like the fuel pump is not getting power unless the guage is on. Does the stealership have to replace new cluster, or is it plug in play

Are we supposed to guess at what you're working on?

I was rushing, but I just got my trusty small angle grinder and clean up rust and corrosion on all grounds and found some hidden splices from previous owner. This truck is my beater with an heater, but it drives great

Well I guess we’ll just be forced to continue guessing what you’re working on since you don’t even seem to know...
