97 f150 5.4 motor/trans compatibility
I have a 97 f150 with good motor and trans. Everything else is trashed. I need to know what body this motor/trans will fit into if I can’t find an exact match for the truck I have.

Door jamb sticker, TRANS code. E4OD is "E", 4R70W is "U". If no sticker, look at the pan. E4OD is 20 bolts, shaped like the state of Utah, 4R70W is 14 bolts and symmetric rectangular.
Most likely a E4OD, you would need another 2wd F150 or F250 LD with an E4OD, 97 or 98. If 4R70W, another 2wd F150 with a 4R70W, 97 or 98, it could have a 4.6 but not a 4.2. If not an exact match, some electrical mods may be necessary.
