Performance intake
Performance intake
I want to get a performance intake.
I already have a gott's mod
I want Cold air, or as close as I can get.
If I don't find what I want, I might just toss in a better filter then oem spec replacement. If I do put in a better filter, which one? I know K&N will flow more, BUT will let more dirt in... is that a concern? I want more flow obviously, but won't sacrifice filtration for more flow.
Also needs to be CA legal.
I have an open-ish exhaust, and run a 5☆ Tuning, high octane performance tune.

the test results I've seen in the past showed that the K&N filter had less differential pressure across the filter but it also didn't filter as well. On a stock engine a tune is the most effective mod. I got a very noticeable boost in hp and throttle response from my Superchips and some members claim that other tunes are more effective. If you are going to modify the engine you should get a custom tune after the mods are made. I suspect headers would help but I don't know for sure. I think even a modified exhaust is illegal in CA now isn't it with a huge fine? A hair dryer supercharger may do what you want.
Exhaust and intake mods create more noise than extra power. Some exhaust mods can even lower the low end torque. A custom tune or dyno tune is the one best thing you can do, whether you have any mods or not.
