Intermittent wiper issue

Hey all
My 1998 f150 has an interesting issue with the intermittent wipers. They work on high they work on low. Put them on intermittent and they occasionally work. But they always work when I step on the clutch. I'm at a stop with the clutch in they work fine. Put it in neutral take my foot off the clutch and they stop working. Push in the clutch put them back in first and away they go again. I know it's got to be a loose connection somewhere under the dash. I do not have tilt steering. I replaced the wiper control farm with a brand new one. I replace the gem module. I replaced the wiper assembly.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Derek

All right no responses so far but that's okay. It's way too early to give up hope so how about does anyone have drawings of the electrical routing for the wiper controls?

You might want to look into the windshield leaking. Very common issue.

Also, you can find the fsm online and it has wiring schematics

This site doesn't have much activity sadly

Thanks Jimbo
Seems to be the way it goes with me. I buy a classic right as everyone else abandons them.
I did manage to find a pinout of the wiper multifunction switch online.
If this rains stops I will tackle it.

Fixed....ish. the original owner had CB antennas on both sides of the engine mounted internally to the fenders. They tie wrapped the RG6 cables to a factory bundle of wires. I pushed back towards the dash on the factory bundle and now the wipers work as they should. I will have to pull the dash out (again) to find where the plug is that was partially opened. While I am in there I will strip out all the alarm crap I saw while lying on my back on the floorboard. I definitely don't need that activating itself someday and leaving me stranded.
When I bought the truck it only had the right side of the instrument cluster working with lights. First night that I drove it of course the other 2 bulbs died so I pulled the cluster out and replaced everything with LEDs. I'm not pulling all that back out again until I put a stereo in this thing

I also installed BBK unequal length headers as the second owner couldn't figure out how to get the exhaust leak to stop on the passenger side so he removed the Hedman headers that it had and went back to the factory log Style. As the studs were all brand new and fresh seem like the smartest time to pull them all out and upgrade. Only three of the studs would not remove so I had to slot 1 bolt hole on the passenger side header to get the bbk's to go in
