Spicer Diff Cover

Anyone else see this? I have been wanting a quality diff cover for a while, but no one made one that wasn't like $400

https://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com...g/R2486-A.html

I plan to get one

At 3/8" thick, it will take a little while to rust through. But, why spend the money? Paint the OE cover.

Wasn't so much rusting through... I mean it will look ugly as fly if it's not painted...

I no longer have the OE cover, I replaced it with a Spectre chrome cover, and it leaks. I feel if I tighten the bolts any more, they might snap

I do plan to get a lube locker gasket for it.

Sure, I could do RTV, but I have heard good things about the lube locker gaskets

https://www.lubelocker.com/product/llr-f975/

If this does require painting, I will toss a coat of clear on it

The OE covers tend to rust quickly in the frozen north but they are cheap I think. I use a gasket because the silicon crap is hit or miss as far as not leaking.

i believe I would have to fill that with some laqour thinner first to check out all that high tech welding. Yeah OIL might not LEAK out of it....but oil seepage is still just a no no for me.

that company is actually very highly regarded in the wheeling circles I belong to. They have been around a long time, and make quality products. I have no qualms about their quality

$140 isn't gobs of $. Especially considering I am replacing a crap one that I have. I have a chrome stamped spectre cover that leaks.

And look what I am replacing it with....
