Can I fit a slightly larger tire?

Looking at trying to find an all terrain tire for my truck once the ones I have wear out (which seems to be in the imminent future, 10k miles and they seem to be wearing excessively fast, probably due to the weight of the truck. And my driving style of course, but my SCrew isn't light by any measure) so I'm thinking of moving to an LT tire in hopes that it'll hold up longer. The problem is finding an all terrain LT rated tire in 255/70R16. I'm particularly fond of how my AT3Ws have handled off highway and on, so I was considering jumping up a tire size to stay with that tire, up to LT265/75R16. Overall on paper the sizes don't seem to be too far from each other. The P255/70R16 is 30.1" tall, 10.2" wide and has a tread depth (new) of 13/32". The LT265/75R16 is 31.7" tall, 10.4" wide and has a tread depth of 18/32". My concern is I'm already rubbing slightly at full steering lock with my current tires in reverse, how much will 1.6"x0.2" affect this? Will I run into other issues here? Note: also planning on leveling the truck, the nose is too low

What are you driving? It must be 2WD if the your current tires are rubbing?

I have a 97 extended cab 8ft bed with 2wd and run 265/75/16 General Grabber AT2's. Zero rubbing with the stock suspension. Probably could have gone with 275s without issue too. They look good, great in the snow and rain, very minimal road noise and wear like iron.

just don't slam the tires into a lock situation in reverse.... slamming the tires into full lock @ any time is really bad for the already whiney ford pumps
