I'm doing an f150 diesel conversion and i'm putting a 4r100 lighting trans in where a 4r70w was. I'm going off of the thread on this forum COMPLETE 4R100 SWAP NOTES, but i was wondering were i can get the torsion bars. It seems like not all scrap yards sell them used and the dealer ship wanted the vin code. What would the vin code be for the torsion bars i need? I'd prefer the 7700 bars but wouldn't have to have them. Thanks in advance!

 

Seems like there are a lot of torsion bars online for a '97-'03 F150.

Not quite sure what you are trying to accomplish?

 

Because the 4R100 is longer, i need to move the cross members back and thus i need longer torsion bars.

 

you will need to find the torsion bars from whatever had your same frame, and motor, and trans --- or custom build something...... the bars wont affect where your transmission is though.....

 

This is a 4x4 and the torsion bar cross member needs to be moved back to make room for the transfer case.
