New key ignition cylinder

I purchased a new key ignition cylinder for my 1999 Ford F150. It came with two keys. Can I simply remove the old cylinder and replace it with the new, without re-coding anything? That is, I'm assuming the keys that came with the cylinder are already coded. Thanks

New PATS keys always have to be coded to your PCM.

Unless you have a previously valid key for the system that can be "re-purposed", you will need to re-program the PATS system to the new keys.
