Question 1997 electric shift transfer case sensor ID question

I've searched all over and haven't found the info I need. I'm ordering a new transfer case motor, and I keep seeing reference of sensor ID#, but I can't find what ID# I have???

This assumes you have a 4.6 engine and shift on the fly.
There is no sensor Id involved with a transfer case motor.
Just check that the electric socket has the same pins in the same place as the original.
If you check the ROCK AUTO site for the motor for 1997, you won't see any reference to an ID #.
All the motor does is rotate a shaft that engages the Transfer case, powers a sync solenoid and rotate wiper contacts to operate the vacuum solenoids on the firewall so the front axle actuator locks the front CV axle together.
Good luck.

Yup it's a 4.6. It got stuck in 4lo, so i pulled the motor off and put it back in 2hi so it's driveable. Rock auto is showing based on sensor ID. Only thing I find on it is A7122, which doesn't cross to anything...

Look at the listing on Rock Auto.
There are 3 different connector shapes
Select the one that matches yours.

Good luck.

OK got the new motor put on, swapped the extra wire into the new unit, and it doesn't function. It's snowy out so I unbolted the new motor and turned the transfer case to 4HI, then used vacuum to engage the front differential. Now it's in 4x4 so I know it's not a functional issue... Still no light on the dash, although it was on briefly one day, and they're on at startup. All associated fuses are good and getting power
