1997, transfer, case, 4x4, low new motor install
hello, i have a 1997 ford f150 4.6 v8
i had a 4x4 issue not being able to get the truck to go into any 4x4 low or high.....no lights on dash/////
i then purchased a new transfer case motor from rock auto ,installed it,
immediately the 4x4 light came on
switched it into 4h tried it out ok,
switched it into 4low
herd a little crunch and it locked
cant get it out of 4low 4x4 light and 4 low iluminated on dash,.
i tried disconnected battery
i tried neutral, backing up, etc,, could i have gotten a bad part? anyones thoughts
i am frustrated thanks in advance

Remove the T-Case motor and look things over.
The motor turns a shaft to engage the transfer case.
Manually move it back to the 2WD position. Then you can at least drive the truck in 2wd.
Then begin the look for what is wrong.
Look at the circuit board and wiper contacts for damage.
Could be a fault with the transfer case, the motor or how you installed it.
