So I had just bought this truck a while ago. It had gotten sound system work done before. Stereo, door speakers, sub, the whole 9 yards. Well my power windows dont work. Actually when you press any of the buttons (and i noticed this with the door open and key to the on position with engine off) its like it is hooked up to the door ajar switch. It would turn off the dome light along with the 'door ajar' instrument panel light, and when you let go it would make that beep like when you first turn your key, and the dome light and door ajar light come back on. Ive never dealt with power window problems so if its something simple please inform me nicely. By the way the plugs for the power window switches seem to be hooked up correctly with the wiring. So if something is backwards, would it be between the door and fuze box? Thank you in advance for your answers.

 

What truck do you have?
Does the drivers side floor get wet when it rains?
Does it have an aftermarket alarm installed?

 

97 F150 Lariat Supercab 4x4. No it does not. And as of my knowledge no aftermarket alarm unless it was removed by the previous owner before they got rid of it

 

I would think you have a grounding problem with the door, or possibly wires chafing together in the harness where it bends around the door hinges

 

Oh I did forget to mention that I hear relay clicking when pressing the window buttons as well. As far as the other door panel buttons, lock and unlock work, power mirror adjustments dont, but i think that is the mirror motors because nothing at all happens with that one.
