Question Code C1284

AMMCO, found Code C1284 during servicing my 2002 F150, 4.6l v8. Said it was a "Oil Pressure Switch fault". The check engine light is not on and my pressure gage seem to be working okay. Not sure what to think since the truck is running great. Does this switch just operate the pressure gauge on the cluster. Has anyone had this code come up? Should I just change the switch to be safe? The location of the switch is supposed to be above the oil filter. Is this correct? Would C1284 indicate a bigger problem? Appreciate help on this.

Sounds like some clown at AAMCO (All Automatics Must Come out) has a boat payment due.

That code is a status message that gets pulled from the HEC when the idiot leaves the engine switched off while pulling those codes. If the engine aint' running, there will be no oil pressure. Funny how that works...

Go drive your truck and enjoy it. NEVER go back to that particular shop.
