I have replaced the intake gasket and now no start it cranks over but doesn't fire it wants to but it wont my little scan tool brings up a p1288 code cylinder head temprature sensor out of range I want to know if that would cause it not to start before i pull intake back off

It could be and here is why;
At key to Run, the computer looks at the values of the CHT and IAT to tell it what the starting cold or hot setup will be for fuel and ignition advance as well; as opening the IAC for more air and higher idle speed.
Without the CHT signal, the PCM assumes the temperature to be very cold..
Since you say is tries, my thought is the motor is being flooded with to much fuel.
Get the connector hooked up and see if the issue goes away.
Even if you did get the engine to run, a code for the CHT would be set telling you the circuit is open.
Good luck.
