I'm wanting to put bigger tires on my 2003 f150 fx4 crew cab. I have torsion keys turned up is all I've done to truck. I don't really want to lift my truck but would look at getting different front bumper if needed. What's the biggest mud tires I can go with without it scrubbing as it is? I have 265/70/17s ats on it now.
The largest recommended tire for that rim is 285/70x17. Go to Tire Rack and check the specs for tires and suggested rim width. I talked to a guy who had 295/70x17 tires on his truck this vintage and he said they did not rub. they were Nittos and were 2/3 worn out and were wearing perfectly.
The 33s will rub the lower corner of the front valance when you turn. Trim it and you should be fine. I have 305/70 R16s on but they are only 12 inches wide.
