2002 F150 XLT Horn not working

Hey guys, have a 2002 F150 XLT and a couple weeks back I bumped my horn on accident and the horn just kept blowing for about 25 seconds then shut off. After that it hasn't worked since. Check the fuse and its good, replaced the relay and that hasn't solved it. I also tried to jump the relay with some wire and that didn't work. Last thing I tried was splicing straight into onw of the wires that lead to the plug on the horns and connecting it straight to the battery and still no sound. I'm thinking I need to replace the horns. So any other ideas I could test before buying new horns?? Thanks

You need new horns if they won't work connected direct to the battery.

well I connected a wire to the wires before the connector that plugs into the horn. Haven't taken the horns off and directly connected them yet. I think I'm going to do that next. If not I'll just buy a cheap one from the parts store and run a switch to it.
