Sparkplug and heli coil
Sparkplug and heli coil
Hello All,
I recently picked up a 2001 SuperCrew, 5.4 with 140k It has a code PO303, cylinder 3 misfire.
I picked up a new oem coil, and motorcraft plug. When I pulled out the old plug out, it was very loose and come out easy. To my surprise there was a helicoil on the plug and that came out!

Now my reading on here says that Timesert is the way to go, I just hope I still have enough meat left in the head to go with the big sert.
My question is does anyone still rent the timesert kit? All the threads on here are from 2011-2013 when Galaxy was renting one... I cant see spending almost $500 to maybe fix this, then need a new head
Thanks for any help

My kit should be back home on Monday. You're welcome to contact me.
The standard insert for the 2V Triton is already the "Bigsert" and can usually repair holes that have been previously treated with a Helicoil. Please read this page carefully: http://www.timesert.com/html/pi2.html
