Adding Factory Fog Lights to an XL

Good evening, I am new to this forum. I have a 2000 F150 with the 4.2l 5 speed combo. I recently upgraded my front valence to one that had fog lights in it. My truck has the fog light connectors at the front but when i went to check the wiring harness at my switch it is missing wires for the 2 and 5 pin on the headlight switch. I checked both under the hood and in cabin fuse boxes and all the relays and fuses are there to make it work. Did ford not run those wires or are they just further up the harness and were never inserted into the connectors. I have done extensive research to see if anyone else has had this problem but i haven't found anyone that has. If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Ryan

Quick update, I have looked at the wires coming into the fuse panel under the hood, there is the yellow wire going to the relay but where in the fire wall does it punch through inside the cab? I don't believe the white/black wire was ever ran from the fuse panel inside to the connector.

Thanks, Ryan

Most of the wires enter the cab through a couple large connectors located on the firewall between the brake booster and the fender. As I recall, it was not real easy to access from either side of the firewall.

I added factory fogs to my '99 a while back ... https://www.f150online.com/forums/ar...-f-150-xl.html

I'm not sure how much it'll help as the '99 and '00 have different fog light systems.

My '99 XL was different than your situation as I had factory wires from the switch to the firewall, but nothing beyond that.

Sorry for such a late response, I had to go back to school and i forgot to respond to your help. I have read through your thread many times trying to figure out what the best way was to go about this. I ended up going to a local junk yard and taking apart those firewall connectors(such a pain in the ***), pulling the pins from the cab side all the way to the switch and then from the switch to the in cab fuse box(also a pain). I took lots of detailed pictures when I did this as I had planned on doing a write up as soon as i get the free time. I was going for the factory look on the inside as I did not want some toggle switch. I am currently in the middle of taking an explorer light switch and changing the face plate to one that will fit in the dash opening. But thanks for response and the helpfulness of your thread.

Thanks, Ryan

Stock set of what? Fog lights? Before I had started this I had picked up a set of clear depo fog lights. But thank you though.

That would have been so much easier looking back on it now. I think I did more damage to my dash just taking it apart(cracking the vinyl off of it) than I would have just mounting a rocker switch underneath the steering wheel or somewhere in that area. I definitely enjoy the upgrade very much though, living in Blacksburg, Va there aren't many street lights so it tends to get dark and can get very foggy so they help out.

My switch is on the "horseshoe" piece below the cluster that mates with the steering column cover.
