Ford said recalls are Vin specific. Ford said passenger side buckle is 175 and driver is 125. The passenger side buckles that I need are on back order. Obviously there is a problem and the recall I found on line doesn't cover my truck because of my vin according to them. I filed a complaint with NHTSA. Anyone know what tool I need to remove buckle were it bolts to floor? It's a star or torq.


I have a 2001 F150. I ended up using buckle out of a 99 using a T55 bit to remove and replace buckle assembly. aka seatbelt receiver

buckle end where it fastens to floor of cab. looks like a torx bolt

I tried 5 salvage yards.

 

Tried 5 salvage yards and Ford dealer said they on back order.

 

One salvage yard said only 2000-octobedr 2001 will fit which seems weird because even the 90s had seat belt buckles that look like mine.

 

I used a T55 and bought one for 8 bucks out of a 99. But was being told the buckle would only interchange with 2000 and 2001 up until October.

These trucks are between 12 and 19 years old. Not a lot of them left on the road.
