1997 F150 won't start

Fuse box and GCU taken off and cleaned. Now looks like a possible short won't start. Will a 1998 Ford expedition fuse panel and GCU work on my 1997 F150?

Why do you think there's a short? Do you know what a short is?

I installed fuse box and module and heard sizzling and smelled something burn. Don't know if it is the something in fuse panel or the module. Will the 1998 ford expedition fuse panel and module work on this 1997 f150.

Do you have a good connection at the battery? I'm assuming nothing at all happens when you try to start it. No clicking, no starter turning the engine? Lights on the dash?

I have no idea if such a scheme might work.

Look the part numbers up at www.fordparts.com and compare the data in the respective Buyer's Guides. Otherwise, call your dealer's parts dept or call a salvage yard that has access to the Hollander exchange data.
