99 f-150 s.o.s.

Hey guys im new to the forums I just bought my first ford a few weeks ago its a 1999 F-150 XL. I've driven Chevy all my life and now I know why. Well I bought this beater for work and my turning signal lights and breaks went out! I changed the relay and the Switch and still nothing! I know this is a common problem and question asked but I really need this truck back on the road, Any help or point me in the right direction?? Thank you

Did you check the fuses?

Fuse charts are in the owner's manual, if you don't have one you can download a PDF:

Thanks for the link. What box would the fuse be located? under the dash or under the hood?

Both. There's a box under the dash and one under the hood. Download and read the manual, it has everything that each fuse protects and each relay operates.

Another possible cause could be the wires pulling out of the back of the connector to the Multi Function Switch on the steering column. This can cause all kinds of strange lighting problems, depending on which wires get pulled out.

It's a simple and inexpensive repair ... https://www.f150online.com/forums/19...3-f-150-a.html

I don't get it. What did you spend $74 on and how would driving a Chevy have prevented this?

Hey, take it easy - it's just a little ribbing. You left yourself open for it with the way you worded your first post! If I went on a Chevy forum and said something like that I'd be crucified.

I suppose you are right. I didn't mean any harm and was not the right thing to say and for that I apologize. I appreciate the help.

I have a 99....F 150.......never replaced a fuse to date, knock on wood.
Matter of fact I just replaced the original right side headlight bulb the other day, the first bulb replacement.
When you say, I've driven Chevy all my life and now I know why you got to expect some slit to be thrown at you.

A true Chevy man wouldn't be caught dead in a Ford, why then did you buy one?

OH, I know why.....there are not many 99 Chevy pu's on the road anymore they are all crushed for scrap metal.
