Hey guys I have a 1998 F1 54.6 L V8 I am working on cleaning out the throttlebody I ran across an issue when after taking off the elbow that connects to the air mass air sensor it says attention do not clean inside the throttlebody post pictures below
At this late date and in need of cleaning, clean it.
It won't cause any malfunction.
Spray clean until it comes out clear.
Open the throttle to be sure you get it all.
Good luck.
Make sure you also clean out the EGR passages in the elbow under the throttle body. Use throttle body cleaner, you will probably need a rag to get all the crap out of the TB and pipe cleaners to clean the EGR passages.
The mass airflow sensor is not anywhere near the throttle body, it's in the plastic intake tube close to the air cleaner.
