New to the forum seen a lot of ecu problems/fixes but nothing to the effect that I'm having.. I just swapped my ecu with one from an expedition same year /motor/ tranny and now my truck will start and run for literally 2 seconds and turn off like I shut the key off. Any ideas? Does the ecu need to be flashed or reprogrammed? Has this happened to anyone else?

 

what was the original problem that made you swap the ECU?

 

Sounds like a PATS problem. Is the pats data stored in the ECU?

 

There was no PATS in 1997.

 

But there was in the 97 Expy. The Expy's PCM isn't happy that it isn't getting it's PATS information from the PATS Control Module.

Anyway, the one-post wonder who started this thread three weeks ago hasn't returned since the 4th. Let the thread die.
