Hearing directional click on AM radio

I've always had pretty crappy AM reception, but I've also noticed now, I can hear my directional click on AM radio. I assume this is a ground issue. I'm sure there's many, but any idea where to check first? My drivers door is crushed so only able to get in on the other side. Should be able to crawl up in there somewhat, but am not good at troubleshooting electrical/ground issues. Or is it something else? Anyone well versed in electronics, I also lost my "headlights on" chime after the accident(T-boned), any ideas? The radio issue started before accident. Thanks

Most likely corrosion in the antenna base plate mounts to fender.
