Did your mechanic successfully pull codes? You have a PCM or electrical issue causing the PCM to malfunction. If you replace the PCM, THEN you'll have a PATS problem.
I'm not really sure what he did as far as pulling codes. He just said he thought it was PATS and said a locksmith would be looking at it on Monday. I'll keep you posted and thanks for your help!

The video is inconclusive as the THEFT light is barely visible and I realy can't tell if it's solid then goes out (I think so) or if it's fast flashing.

If it ain't fast-flashing at the start-up attempt, it ain't a PATS issue
and the mechanic is wasting your time and money.

I don't think he is just telling me what I want to hear. Like I mentioned last time he had it after I changed the battery and it wouldn't start. He said it was security codes, they reset it and it ran fine. Didn't charge me a dime other than the towing fee of $50.

It is flashing rapidly. Got a little sun glare in the video unfortunately.

I have never heard of a security code reset. Between the odometer dashes and the fact that it started up and died, I'm still saying not PATS.

Best of luck, let us know!

I just got back from the shop! Mechanic told me the locksmith reprogrammed the keys. He couldn't find anything wrong with it either. Well other than the keys were not being recognized. Basically I'm going to have to wait for it to do it again and then take it to Ford. The shop I went to said they don't have the equipment to figure out what the problem is. My mechanic once again didn't charge me anything other than a towing fee.

No they didn't. Mechanic said they didn't charge him so he wasn't charging me anything either. Good people.

Wow, that kind of honesty is hard to find these days.

Hope you get a better answer from Ford and don't end up stranded somewhere in the mean time.

Buy a cheap fuel pressure gauge When the no stat happens check the fuel pressure. My bet is you have a intermittent failure in the fuel system.

I disagree. Nothing with the fuel system will cause the odometer dashes - unless you consider a loss of power to the ECU part of the fuel system in your statement - then I agree.

Here are the facts that we can verify:
1. Can't pull codes when it won't start
2. Odometer has all dashes
3. Theft light blinks rapidly
4. Engine will die after starting

The only thing these symptoms have in common is the PCM. It's losing power/ground or failing. I don't know what your mechanic or the locksmith is doing, but what they are telling you and the symptoms you describe don't align.

Something simple to try is just to make sure all of your fuses and relays are fully seated. Pull them all out one at a time and put them back in after checking for corrosion.

I truly hope you get it fixed, keep us posted!
