Question about the gasket where the slip yoke goes into the T case

I've had a leak where the slip yoke goes into the T case for a while now. We replaced the seal 6 or so months ago. I crawled under there about a month ago and couldn't see if there was any more fluid being sprayed (it was wet out so doomed from the start lol). I used a puddy knife and scraped some dirt off the under carriage so that I would be able to see if it is spraying more fluid or not.

Anyway I crawled under there again to see if maybe the slip yoke had scoring which was chewing up the gasket or something (which it does not), but I noticed a hole in the gasket. Is this normal? It looks manufactured but I am hoping there is not supposed to be a hole lol.

That's a weep hole, by design. That's not a seal per se, it's a dust boot.
