Hello everyone, so I recently purchased my first pickup truck a Ford 150 1998 4.6 5 speed. Drove fine no signs of problems.Out of nowhere on the fourth day it throws a could at the light a push the pedal and nothing. The truck runs very rough for a min dies and will not start back up. So I have it towed to a garage. They call the next day and say I need a new fuel pump only pushing seven psi. So a few days later at a cost of 540 bucks my wife picks up my truck while I'm at work. I hop in the next day and it runs fine on the 30 mile trip. Then on the way home it die in almost the same spot and same symptoms. Did not get a chance to ask what the code was as my wife picked up the truck. No code to start until it broke down he first time returned back with check engine light on I figured the forgot to reset. So towed to same shop today waiting to hear what they have to say. Any suggestions thanks.

 

got to see if there are any codes? Hope they put in a new inline fuel filter, I've seen shops just replace the pump and not put in a new FF. Crank sensor? See what they say.
