Frt brake caliper sticking help needed?

Frt brake caliper sticking help needed?

Don't drive my F150 L much any more and every now and then the R/F caliper sticks (reads 484* at the disk) for some reason---------- any ideas?

The caliper probably needs replacement and the brake fluid needs flushing.

What ??
Replace a caliper with 130k miles and 15 yrs old.....:-)

Thx glc, I was wondering about the slide pins and hoses, maybe all needs attention.

It would be good preventive maintenance to replace the hoses. I have had one fail on mine at about 130k miles on the boat ramp with the boat connected.

bad brake hoses let you pump fluid into caliper, but doesn't let it return to the master cyl. causing your problem. jack up both front wheels,pump up your brakes, then try to hand turn the tires, on the tight one open the bleeder valve, if fluid flys out w/ a lot of pressure, replace the brake hose and replace both sides.

These calipers have plastic pistons. I had to replace all four. Just bite the bullet and replace the caliper.
