hi i just pulled a 1997 5.4 engine out to replace my blown 5.4 in my 2001. i know i have to change the 97 metal intake to the 01 plastic intake and relocate the the oil filter .will my intake fit from the 01 to the 97 and is there any thing else i should look for. both vin codes are L (8th digit in vin ) thanks for any help im planning on starting this project next week on pulling my 01 engine thanks again

 

Nope, the intakes aren't interchangeable. The 01 is a PI engine and the 97 is not. You don't want a non-PI engine anyway, it has less HP and torque. 99 and newer are PI.
