Rotational front end squeak 2002 F150 SuperCrew 4x4
I have a 2002 Ford F150 SuperCrew. Recently I noticed a rotational squeak that i believe is in my front end. I only really notice it when my windows are down and going less than 30mph or next to a building. I have replaced my shocks with motorcraft ones. I also have new brakes and new rotors on the truck. Applying the brakes doesn't change the squeak and it does NOT make it any louder. Like i said its a rotational squeak, its almost sounds like there is a rock stuck between my rotor but i took both front tires off and there are no rocks or debris i even took the brake caliper off and checked the brake pads and cleaned them. could it be a cv shaft or front hub and bearings? I'm really thinking it might be hub and bearings. any ideas before i spend the money on a hub and bearing. The squeak does not effect how the truck drives or stops but it is just a irritating squeak when i have spent so much money on make my truck nice.
Does it do it in both 2wd and 4wd?
CV joints are the most likely, if the boots are torn you can be sure they need to be changed. Rebuilt halfshaft is the easiest and most economical way. If the front driveshaft is turning, it could be the u-joints in it.
