I needed some tow mirrors quick (and then didn't, but I'd already ordered) and cheap for the occasional tow. Thought I'd found a great deal on the perfect solution in a pair of **** slide-ons. However the seller was a bit uninformed and/or misleading and though they assured me they would fit the manual mirrors on my '98 XL it turns out they were wrong, the mirrors only fit the base trim level manual mirrors.

It looks like returning them will be more hassle than it's worth but I'm looking at them and thinking " I could probably mod them to fit without much trouble. " but hey, figured I'd ask here first and see if anyone has already done it before I do too much brainstorming and start working.

So, has anybody made them work with the XL mirrors and have a guide or some tips ? Or maybe others would be interested in my mod if I get it right ?
