cruies control

cruise control went out last night? looked under hood and the sensor on end of master cyl. was leaking brake fluid got new one still no cruies? checked all fuses all good. ran self-test diagnostics light goes on while holding off button and on button move to other side resume,coast,set-acel nothing where to go from here? the horn dose work. any suggestions thanks

Have you had the cruise control recall done? There's an inline fuse in the harness going to the disconnect switch you changed if you have, you need a new harness piece if that fuse is blown.

i was told 2002 did not have recall for that? if there was one it was not done.

just went out and looked there is a ball of wires all zip tied and there is a fuse in there a 2 amp it is blown will go get one and try just hope it blew from all the brake fluid coming out of old switch. i should of seen that? i'll let you know thanks

well that was it! never seen that fuse. glc if you where here i'd have some cold ones for you thanks.

If it had the fuse harness, the recall was done. The reason they did it that way is when the bad switch starts leaking, it was shorting out and causing fires. Instead of replacing the switch, Ford simply put a harness extension on with an inline fuse. I guess that was cheaper.
