door locks
After searching the web for hours looking for help (to no avail) on my door lock problems I just dove in and started checking everything. To start I have a 2001 Supercrew that all four power door locks stopped working at once. I started with the actuators, tested each one they all worked fine. Tested for power at door lock switches, check. Tested for power at the 20 amp. fuse in the power box under the hood, check. Tested for power on the blk/wht wire at the harness plug going through the fire wall, check. Tested for power on purple/pink wire at RAP that comes from the PDL relay, no power. Couldn't find the PDL relays, checked under the oval access on the pass. side dash, checked behind the radio and never found them. Started following the harness from the RAP which led me to remove the driver side kick panel. There is a plug with a blk/wht wire it was corroded inside the plug, I repaired the bad connection and door locks are working again.
My rocker panels are rusted and the floor is rusted where the parking brake cable passes through the floor, this allowed water and dirt behind the kick panel compromising the harness plug. I didn't trace the harness any farther but I believe the PDL relays may be somewhere behind the back seat.
Sorry this is so long but hopefully it helps someone with the same problem, all my web searches kept leading me to actuator problems, nothing about wiring problems.
