Rats got into my truck HELP!!!
Ok, 2001 f150 with the 5.4 rwd. This truck has 223k on it and has had little to no problems until the rats. My parents game me this truck and said if I could fix it its mine for free
I have fixed a couple things that I have found, like chewed wires on #1 ignition coil, and a few other minor things. Now I have a few codes and issues left to do.
First-The power windows do not work. I looked in the owners manual and it says there is a circut breaker under the hood. I found the spot in the fuse panel and there is nothing even there. Doesnt even look like there is suppose to be something there. Anyone know where the fues is?
Second- I have code p1260 (Theft detected- Vehicle Immobalized) But I can start and drive it. It does take a second for it to start though. Normally turn over once, wait a second then it will slowly go until it is normal speed. I unplugged the battery and clean the connections. And tried both sets of keys. Still does this... So much for the theft system working.LOL Is there a relearn procedure?
Other codes. I also have codes p0307, p0304 and p1504. So cylinder 4 and 7 misfire and Idle air motor circuit malfunction. Im going to check the wiring on the idle motor because this thing can barley idle by itself, it actually will normally die if you dont have the gas down. Otherwise it idles at about 500ish. Anyone have a wiring diagram for the motor or know of a way to test the wiring before i go throwing a iac valve on? And the misfires I can figure out myself im sure.
Thanks for the help guys!!!!

Ok, finally found the #14 fuse blew. So now the windows and interior lights are working again. The truck also seem to be starting better so I dont think that the p1260 is a issue anymore. I think it may have just been a really bad battery connection. It was loose and the terminal was black. Now just on to the misfire and IAC
Erase the codes and let the system start over. The 1260 code might be an old one.
While you're at it, inspect the entire PCV hose from the valve cover all the way around to the back of the intake at the firewall. The elbows rot out causing vacuum leaks and poor idle quality.

That is going to be my next step. I took the Iac off and cleaned it. Still the same issue. Im going to go after the misfire first then look for the idle problem. 237k and 6 or 7 of the coils are still the OE from 2001. Ill try to take it up to the parts store later and clear everything out
Well I decided to just go buy my own scanner. Scanned the truck and the only code left was the p1504 for the idle motor, but I do still feel a misfire. So I might go ahead and grab the sensor and some coils at work tomorrow.
