2000 f 150 fuel pump
2000 f 150 fuel pump
my truck started to miss while driving it. so i changed the plugs and wires. the missing or starving for fuel got worst so i took the truck to the shop. they told me i needed a fuel pump so i had one put in. truck drove better but never seem to work as well as it should. the missing or starving for fuel started to get worst. then one day the truck stopped completely would not start up at all. i took it back to the same shop i was told that my engine was shot. they did a block test and said there was no compression in my engine. so i took the truck to another shop where they told me i needed another fuel pump. i explained my story to the shop owner about the other fuel pump but he stood by his findings. so i had him put another fuel pump in the truck ran fine for about five to eight hundred miles and the miss or starving for fuel has started once again. i am 300 miles from home can somebody please help me. the truck has 317,000 miles and problem is getting worst every time i take the truck out. i need help asap thank you
diagnose the FPR (fuel Pressure regulator), it regulate the fuel pressure in the fuel system. If not enough pressure, injectors does not function properly and lack fuel delivery. Symptom is hard to start, rough running. Replacement is a simple $30 part.
There's a youtube video showing you how to diagnose Ford fuel pressure regulator. You'll need a fuel pressure gauge to check.

Sounds like you need an engine IMO.
Possibly burning up pumps due to lack of compression ? Not sure that I've seen one that bad before, - still running that is lol. Hows the economy been ? Yea, fuel pump is working overtime and heating up on yuh..quick death.
You can check the pressure and regulator, but you really need someone helping you...with tools and a little know-how.
