Need to replace every thing from the cat. to the tail pipe on a 1999 F-150 XLT 4x4 4.6 engine. The best after market component recommendations would be appreciated.

Best is a matter of preference. Best at what? My application might not be the same as yours after all. Best to a 16 year old kind would probably mean loudest. Best to a 45 year old family man towing a travel trailer and hauling the family would mean quiet, reliable, and power adding...

Have you gotten a quote from a local muffler shop for stock components, but some kind of universal muffler instead of the expensive OEM muffler? That's going to be almost as cheap as trying to do it yourself, a lot less aggravating, and will have some kind of warranty.
