I got the rotors off last night. Spindles have some wear on them but i think they are OK.
I broke another end fitting off the main brake line from the booster to the modulator so thats 2 i have broken off now. I should be able to re flare the broken ends but my flare tool only does single flares so i have to purchase a double flare kit. Rotors are in good shape and can probably be reused without surfacing but i may have them ground anyway.
This concludes part one of the teardown process.

Dang, my Dads 71 F250 isn't that rusty! And it's lived in the NW since 1977.

Where did you pick that up from again? The bottom of the Lake Ontario?

Great work so far I gotta say! My Dad is restoring his 71 right now and not doing half of what you are..

Great project and I wish I had the means to do that.

Mitch

As i said before it lived in a guys back yard in the garden with tress growing up through LOL Prior to being parked it was a landscaping truck in summer a salter in winter so the bed was always full of salt or dirt.
Lake Ontario is a fresh water lake LOL This is more like a WW2 relic from the bottom of the Atlantic.
So far i havent spent any money but that day is coming soon if i indeed do restore it. Most of what is coming off is in good shape just really dirty.
I feel like a bit of a hack with all the amazing trucks i see on here. You guys are very inspiring!!
